Brainstorm the different stakeholders who would benefit from ARRIVE (Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments) – a checklist of information to include in publications describing animal research. Start by reading the “Audience and benefits” section on the About page.
Create a list of 5 people who you think might find ARRIVE useful – researchers, journal editors, reviewers, students – anyone you know who has an interest in animal research. If you are struggling to identify 5 individuals, instead create a list of 5 events at your institution that will include animal researchers. Alternatively, send a message around your department inviting those interested in rigor in animal research to let you know.
If you have some folks in mind, get ready to be their new best friend! Complete this form on the ARRIVE website and order a minimum of 5 pocket-sized ARRIVE cards to share with the researchers on your list.
When a study is missing methodological information from their published paper, what assumptions do you make about the study? How might you find missing methodological information?
